وَقَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ : حَدَّثَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ دُكَيْنٍ ، عَنْ مِنْدَلِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ ، عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ أَبِي الْمُغِيرَةِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ ابْنِ أَبِي الْهُذَيْلِ ، عَنْ جَرِيرٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ، مَا خَلَصْتُ إِلَيْكَ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ إِلَّا بِفَتِيَّةٍ ، وَأَنَا أَعْزِلُ عَنْهَا ، أُرِيدُ بِهَا السُّوقَ ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " جَاءَهَا مَا قُدِّرَ ".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jarir (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man came into the blessed presence of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "O Messenger of Allah! I have barely escaped from the grip of the polytheists to reach you, and I have a young slave girl with whom I practise 'azl (a particular method of avoiding children), because I intend to sell her in the market?" So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whatever has been decreed for her will certainly reach her."
