حَدَّثَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ ، ثَنَا يُوسُفُ - هُوَ السَّمْتِيُّ - ثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ خُبَيْبِ بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ ، عَنْ سَمُرَةَ - رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ - قَالَ : إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ - صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ : مَنْ رَهَنَ أَرْضًا بِدَيْنٍ عَلَيْهِ ، فَإِنَّهُ يَقْضِي مِنْ ثَمَرِهَا بِمَا فَضَلَ عَنْ نَفَقَتِهَا ، فَيَقْضِي مِنْ ذَلِكَ دَيْنَهُ الَّذِي عَلَيْهِ بَعْدَ أَنْ يَحْسِبَ الَّذِي بَقِيَ لَهُ عِنْدَ عَمَلِهِ وَنَفَقَتِهِ بِالْعَدْلِ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Samurah bin Jundub (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever has pledged a piece of his land against a debt, he should deduct its expenses from its produce and, from what is surplus, pay off the debt he owes; and he will pay his debt from it once he has calculated his labour and expenses with justice and fairness and determined the share remaining to him."
