أَبُو يَعْلَى : حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ بْنُ رُشَيْدٍ ، ثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ ، ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَمْزَةَ بْنِ يُوسُفَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ سَلَامٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ - رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ - قَالَ : أَسْلَفَ رَسُولُ اللهِ - صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - لِرَجُلٍ مِنَ الْيَهُودِ ، يُقَالُ لَهُ يَامِينُ ، فِي تَمْرٍ إِلَى أَجَلٍ مُسَمًّى ، فَقَالَ الْيَهُودِيُّ : مِنْ تَمْرِ حَائِطِ بَنِي فُلَانٍ ؟ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ - صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : أَمَّا مِنْ تَمْرِ حَائِطِ بَنِي فُلَانٍ فَلَا .
The narrator said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) made an advance payment (bay' al-salam) to a Jewish man named Yamin for dates to be delivered at a fixed term. The Jew said: '(Will the dates be) from the orchard of Banu so-and-so?' The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'As for the dates of the orchard of Banu so-and-so, no (they will not be specified).'"
