أَخْبَرَنَا جَرِيرٌ ، حَدَّثَنِي سَالِمُ بْنُ أَبِي حَفْصَةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ - رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا - قَبْلَ مَوْتِهِ بِثَلَاثٍ ، يَقُولُ : أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللهَ وَأَتُوبُ إِلَيْهِ مِنَ الصَّرْفِ .
It is narrated from Abdullah bin Abi Mulaykah that he heard Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), three days before his death, saying: "'Astaghfirullaha wa atubu ilayh' (I seek forgiveness from Allah and repent to Him) for (my view on) sarf (that is, the issue of exchanging gold and silver for each other)."
