It is narrated from Sa'id, attributing it to the Prophet (marfu'an), that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), on the morning of Muzdalifah, ordered Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) to call out among the people that everyone should be silent. So when he had done so, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, Allah Almighty has shown you great generosity and kindness in this gathering of yours. He has forgiven the wrongdoers among you for the sake of the righteous among you, and He has granted the righteous among you everything they asked for. Now depart from here in the name of Allah ('Bismillah', In the name of Allah)."
According to the scholars of hadith, 'Jam'' refers to the place Muzdalifah, and this blessed hadith contains, for the pilgrims, the great glad tidings of general forgiveness and the acceptance of their Hajj from Allah, Glorified and Exalted.
