It is narrated from Abu al-Aliyah (may Allah have mercy on him): "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was leading the prayer, and his Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) were (joining the prayer) behind him. Meanwhile a blind man came and stepped on a mat of palm leaves lying over the mouth of a well, and as a result he fell into the well. (Seeing this) some of those praying behind laughed, so the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered: 'Whoever laughed (in the prayer) is to perform his ablution again.'"
Imam al-Harith narrated this hadith in his Musnad. This narration is mursal, because Abu al-Aliyah is a Successor (Tabi'i) and did not himself see the time of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him); however, according to the Hanafi jurists, such mursal narrations form the basis of the ruling that laughing aloud in prayer breaks ablution.
