قَالَ : وَحَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ ، ثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَبِي خَالِدٍ ، عَنْ أُخْتِهِ ، وَأُمِّهِ ، أَنَّهُمَا دَخَلَتَا عَلَى عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهَا وَعَلَيْهَا دِرْعٌ مُوَرَّدٌ ، وَخِمَارٌ أَسْوَدُ ، فَقِيلَ لَهَا : أَتُغَطِّي الْمُحْرِمَةُ وَجْهَهَا ؟ فَرَفَعَتْ خِمَارَهَا هَكَذَا مِنْ قِبَلِ صَدْرِهَا إِلَى رَأْسِهَا ، وَقَالَتْ : لَا بَأْسَ بِهَذَا .
It is narrated from the mother and the sister of Isma'il bin Abi Khalid that they both came to the Mother of the Believers, Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her), and at that time she was wearing a rose-coloured garment and a black head-covering. She was asked: "May a woman in the state of ihram cover her face?" At that Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) raised her head-covering from the side of her chest and placed it over her head like this (so that the face was covered), and said: "There is no harm in this."
