وَقَالَ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ : حَدَّثَنَا الْهَيْثَمُ بْنُ خَارِجَةَ ، ثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَمْزَةَ ، عَنِ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ الْمُنْذِرِ ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ ، وَطَاوُوسٍ ، وَمُجَاهِدٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا : أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ تَسَوَّكَ وَهُوَ صَائِمٌ .
Imam Ahmad bin Mani' (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates through his chain that it is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both): "The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used the tooth-stick (miswak) while he (peace and blessings be upon him) was fasting."
