وَقَالَ مُسَدَّدٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ الْعَبْدِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْمُتَوَكِّلِ ، قَالَ : إِنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ كَانَ إِذَا صَامَ جَلَسَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ وَقَالَ : نُعِفُّ صِيَامَنَا .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that whenever he was fasting he would sit in seclusion in the mosque (with the intention of worship) and say: "(In this way, by avoiding idle talk and backbiting,) we keep our fast pure."
