The eating, drinking and desires of the people of Paradise

Sayyiduna Zayd bin Arqam (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: A man from among the Jews came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "O Abu al-Qasim, you claim that the people of Paradise will eat and drink in it?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Yes. By the One in whose Hand is my soul, (every) man (in Paradise) will be given the strength of a hundred men in eating, drinking, desire and intercourse." The Jew said: "Whoever eats or drinks also needs to relieve himself, and Paradise will be pure." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "(In Paradise) a person's relieving himself will be in the form of sweat that flows from his skin, like the fragrance of musk, and then his stomach will become light."

In one narration the wording is: The narrator says: We were with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) when a man from among the Jews came, whose name was Tha'labah bin al-Harith. He said: "Peace be upon you, O Sayyiduna Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "And upon you." The Jew said to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "You claim that in Paradise there will be food, drink and wives." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Yes. Do you believe in the tree of musk?" He said: "Yes." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Have you found mention of it in your Book?" He replied: "Yes." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Then urine and janabah (sexual discharge) will be in the form of sweat, which will flow from beneath their locks of hair down to their feet, and it will be like musk (in fragrance)." Imam al-Tabarani recorded all of these narrations in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat, and he recorded something similar in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir.
Imam Ahmad also recorded it, and he recorded these words: "The man said: 'O Abu al-Qasim, do you not claim that the people of Paradise will eat and drink in it?' He had said to his companions: 'If he concedes this to me, then I will argue with him.'" The rest of the narration is as before.
Imam al-Bazzar recorded it; the narrators of Ahmad and al-Bazzar are the narrators of the Sahih, except Thumamah bin Uqbah, who is thiqah (trustworthy).

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: It was asked: "O Messenger of Allah, will we have relations with our wives in Paradise just as we have relations with them in this world?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "By the One in whose Hand is the soul of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), a man will have relations with 100 wives in a single morning."
Imam Abu Ya'la recorded it; its chain contains a narrator, Zayd bin Abi al-Hawari, who has been declared trustworthy despite his weakness, and the narrators of this report are thiqat (trustworthy).

Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked: "Will the people of Paradise (that is, husbands and wives) have relations?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Yes. The man's private part will be such that its vigour will never end, and the desire will be such that it will never be cut off; he will have intercourse vigorously."

In one narration the wording is: "But there will be no semen and no death."

In one narration the wording is: "Will the people of Paradise marry (that is, have relations)? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'Yes, and they will also eat and drink.'" Imam al-Tabarani recorded all of these narrations with various chains; the narrators of some of them have been declared trustworthy, although there is weakness in some of them.

Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked: "Will the people of Paradise have relations with their wives?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Yes, in such a way that the man's vigour will never end, the woman's private part will not become worn, and the desire will never be cut off."
Imam al-Bazzar recorded it.

In a narration recorded by him (al-Bazzar), and by Imam al-Tabarani in al-Mu'jam al-Saghir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat, the wording is: "It was asked: 'O Messenger of Allah, will we have relations with our wives in Paradise?' The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'Yes, by the One in whose Hand is my soul, a man will have relations with 100 wives in a single day.'" The narrators of this second narration are the narrators of the Sahih, except Muhammad bin Thawab, who is thiqah (trustworthy). In the first narration there is a narrator, Abd al-Rahman bin Ziyad bin An'um, who is da'if (weak) but not a liar, and its remaining narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).

Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "In Paradise a man will be married to 70 wives. It was asked: 'O Messenger of Allah, will a man have the strength for it?' The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'He will be given the strength of 100 (in having relations with women).'" (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say:
Imam al-Tirmidhi recorded it in abridged form.
Imam al-Bazzar recorded it, and its chain contains narrators whom I do not know.

Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When the people of Paradise have relations with their wives, those women will become virgins again."
Imam al-Bazzar and Imam al-Tabarani (in al-Mu'jam al-Saghir) recorded it; its chain contains a narrator, Mu'alla bin Abd al-Rahman al-Wasiti, who is kadhdhab (a liar).
