Book of the Resurrection
بَابُ يُبْعَثُ النَّاسُ عَلَى نِيَّاتِهِمْ .

عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - يَقُولُ : " إِنَّمَا يُبْعَثُ الْمُسْلِمُونَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ عَلَى النِّيَّاتِ " . رَوَاهُ أَبُو يَعْلَى فِي الْكَبِيرِ ، وَفِيهِ جَابِرٌ الْجُعْفِيُّ ، وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ .
Sayyiduna Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "The Muslims will be raised on the Day of Resurrection only according to their intentions."
Abu Ya'la recorded it in al-Kabir; its chain contains a narrator, Jabir al-Ju'fi, who is da'if (weak).

وَعَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " كُلُّ نَفْسٍ تُحْشَرُ عَلَى هَوَاهَا ، فَمَنْ هَوَى الْكُفْرَ فَهُوَ مَعَ الْكَفَرَةِ ، وَلَا يَنْفَعُهُ عَمَلُهُ شَيْئًا " . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ .
Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Every person will be raised according to his desire. Whoever's desire is disbelief will be placed with the disbelievers, and his deeds will not benefit him at all."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat.
