عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ : " إِنَّ أَرْوَاحَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ لَتَلْتَقِي عَلَى مَسِيرَةِ يَوْمٍ ، مَا رَأَى أَحَدٌ مِنْهُمْ صَاحِبَهُ قَطُّ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr bin al-As (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Indeed, the souls of the believers meet one another from a day's distance, even though none of them has ever seen his companion."
وَفِي رِوَايَةٍ : " لَيَلْتَقِيَانِ عَلَى مَسِيرَةِ يَوْمٍ وَلَيْلَةٍ " . رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَرِجَالُهُ وُثِّقُوا عَلَى ضَعْفٍ فِي بَعْضِهِمْ ، وَرَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ .
In one narration the words are: "The two of them meet one another from the distance of a day and a night."
Imam Ahmad recorded this narration, and its narrators have been declared trustworthy despite weakness in some of them.
