عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ : أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - أَوْصَى عِنْدَ وَفَاتِهِ فَقَالَ : " اللَّهَ اللَّهَ فِي قِبْطِ مِصْرَ ، فَإِنَّكُمْ سَتَظْهَرُونَ عَلَيْهِمْ ، وَيَكُونُونَ لَكُمْ عُدَّةً وَأَعْوَانًا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ " . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .
Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) states: Near his passing, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Fear Allah, fear Allah concerning the Copts of Egypt. Soon you will overcome them, and they will be a source of strength for you and helpers for you in the path of Allah."

وَعَنْ كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - يَقُولُ : " إِذَا فُتِحَتْ مِصْرُ فَاسْتَوْصُوا بِالْقِبْطِ خَيْرًا ; ، فَإِنَّ لَهُمْ دَمًا وَرَحِمًا " .
Sayyiduna Ka'b bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) states: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "When Egypt is conquered, accept the counsel to treat the Copts well, for they have a tie of blood and kinship with you."
وَفِي رِوَايَةٍ : " إِنَّ لَهُمْ ذِمَّةً " . يَعْنِي أَنَّ أُمَّ إِسْمَاعِيلَ كَانَتْ مِنْهُمْ . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ بِإِسْنَادَيْنِ ، وَرِجَالُ أَحَدِهِمَا رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .
In one narration the words are: "They will have a covenant of protection (dhimmah)." What the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) meant was that the mother of Sayyiduna Isma'il (peace be upon him) was from them.

وَعَنْ أَبِي هَانِئٍ : حُمَيْدِ بْنِ هَانِئٍ : أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْحُبُلِيَّ - وَهُوَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يَزِيدَ - وَعَمْرَو بْنَ حُرَيْثٍ وَغَيْرَهُمَا يَقُولَانِ : إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ : " إِنَّكُمْ سَتَقْدَمُونَ عَلَى قَوْمٍ جَعْدٍ رُءُوسُهُمْ فَاسْتَوْصُوا بِهِمْ خَيْرًا ; فَإِنَّهُمْ قُوَّةٌ لَكُمْ ، وَإِبْلَاغٌ إِلَى عَدُوِّكُمْ بِإِذْنِ اللَّهِ " . يَعْنِي قِبْطَ مِصْرَ . رَوَاهُ أَبُو يَعْلَى ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .
Abu Hani Humayd bin Hani states that he heard Abu Abd al-Rahman al-Hubuli, whose name is Abdullah bin Yazid, and Sayyiduna Amr bin Hurayth (may Allah be pleased with him), and others besides them, saying that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Soon you will come to a people with curly hair; accept the counsel to treat them well, for by Allah's leave they will be a strength for you and a means of carrying you to your enemy." the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) meant the Copts of Egypt.

وَعَنْ رَبَاحٍ اللَّخْمِيِّ : أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ : " إِنَّ مِصْرَ سَتُفْتَحُ فَانْتَجِعُوا خَيْرَهَا ، وَلَا تَتَّخِذُوهَا دَارًا ; فَإِنَّهُ يُسَاقُ إِلَيْهَا أَقَلُّ النَّاسِ أَعْمَارًا " . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي مُعْجَمِهِ الْكَبِيرِ ، وَفِيهِ مُطَهِّرُ بْنُ الْهَيْثَمِ ، قَالَ أَبُو سَعِيدِ بْنُ يُونُسَ : مَتْرُوكُ الْحَدِيثِ .
Sayyiduna Rabah al-Lakhmi (may Allah be pleased with him) states that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Egypt will soon be conquered; seek out its good, but do not make it your place of residence, for the people with the shortest lives will be driven to it."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir; its chain contains a narrator, Mutahhar bin al-Haytham. Abu Sa'id bin Yunus says: he is matruk al-hadith (abandoned in hadith).
