عَنْ بِرَيْدَةَ قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - يَقُولُ : " سَيَكُونُ بَعْدِي بُعُوثٌ كَثِيرَةٌ ، فَكُونُوا فِي بَعْثِ خُرَاسَانَ ، ثُمَّ انْزِلُوا مَدِينَةَ مَرْوَ ; فَإِنَّهُ بَنَاهَا ذُو الْقَرْنَيْنِ ، وَدَعَا لِأَهْلِهَا بِالْبَرَكَةِ ، وَلَا يَضُرُّ أَهْلَهَا سُوءٌ " . رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَالطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ وَالْأَوْسَطِ بِنَحْوِهِ ، وَفِي إِسْنَادِ أَحْمَدَ وَالْأَوْسَطِ أَوْسُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، وَفِي إِسْنَادِ الْكَبِيرِ حُسَامُ بْنُ مِصَكٍّ ، وَهُمَا مُجْمَعٌ عَلَى ضَعْفِهِمَا .
Sayyiduna Buraydah (may Allah be pleased with him) states: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "After me many military expeditions will be sent out; be in the army that goes to Khurasan, and then encamp in the city called Marw, for Dhu al-Qarnayn built it and prayed for blessing for its inhabitants; no evil will harm its inhabitants."
Ahmad recorded it, and al-Tabarani recorded something similar in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat. The chain of Ahmad and of al-Mu'jam al-Awsat contains a narrator, Aws bin Abdullah, and the chain of al-Mu'jam al-Kabir contains a narrator, Husam bin Missak, and there is agreement on the weakness of both of them.
Ahmad recorded it, and al-Tabarani recorded something similar in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat.
