Abu Maysarah narrates: Sayyiduna Ayman (may Allah be pleased with him) was in charge of the vessel for purification of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and Tha'labah used to hand him what he needed (perhaps meaning providing water or stones when relieving himself).
Al-Tabarani recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih except Muhammad bin Abbad bin Zakariyya, and he is thiqah (trustworthy).

It is transmitted with the same chain: Abu Maysarah narrates: Sayyiduna Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) submitted: O Messenger of Allah! I saw Ayman fleeing from the fighting. Signs of displeasure appeared on the face of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Sayyiduna Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I have never seen an address further from all good. After that the people engaged in the fighting, and Sayyiduna Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I saw that Ayman wore down the enemy, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) liked this. The narrator says: Sayyiduna Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) said to Sayyiduna Ayman (may Allah be pleased with him): I was told that, out of cowardice, you cannot stand between the two ranks. Sayyiduna Ayman (may Allah be pleased with him) replied: I hope that I will stand in a place that Allah and His Messenger love. Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: You are worthy of doing so.
Al-Tabarani recorded it with the chain of the narration before it.
