Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "During the Hajj season the various nations were presented before me. Then my Ummah passed by me; when I saw them, their great number pleased me. They had filled the plains and the mountains, the whole space. He (the Lord) asked: O Muhammad! Are you pleased? I replied: Yes! He said: Along with them there will be seventy thousand people who will enter Paradise without any reckoning. They are the people who do not seek ruqyah (incantation), do not take evil omens, do not get themselves cauterised, and put their trust in their Lord." The narrator says: Then Sayyiduna Ukkashah (may Allah be pleased with him) stood up and submitted: O Prophet of Allah! Pray to Allah Almighty that He makes me one of them as well. The narrator says: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed for him. Another man stood up and submitted: O Prophet of Allah! Pray to Allah Almighty that He makes me one of them as well. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Ukkashah has beaten you to it."
Ahmad recorded it in both long and short forms, and Abu Ya'la also recorded it likewise; in the long narration their narrators are the narrators of the Sahih. The long narration will come later in the book on the description of Paradise, in the chapter on those who will enter it without reckoning.
