Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was angry, no one dared to speak to him; Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), however, was an exception.
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat. The Tabi'i has dropped out of its chain; its chain contains Husayn bin Hasan al-Ashqar, whom Ibn Hibban declared thiqah (trustworthy) and the majority declared da'if (weak); the remaining narrators of this report have been declared trustworthy.

Zadhan narrates: Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) related something, and a man called him a liar. Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said to him: If you are lying, I will pray against you. He said: Go ahead. Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) prayed against him, and after only a short while that man lost his sight.
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains Ammar al-Hadrami, whom I do not know; the remaining narrators of this report are thiqat (trustworthy).
