Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: A man set out, two men followed him, and behind those two was another man saying: "Come back, come back!" The narrator says: So the two men came back. He then said to him: "These two are two devils. I kept at them until I made them turn back. When you come to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), convey my salam to him and tell him that we are busy collecting our sadaqah (charity), and if it were permissible for him, we would send it to him." The narrator says: At that time the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade being alone.

In one narration the wording is: "You two come back," in place of the words: "You people come back."
Ahmad and Abu Ya'la recorded it, except that he worded it: "A man set out from Khaybar." The narrators of both of these are the narrators of the Sahih, and al-Bazzar's narrators are likewise.
