Abu al-Nadr narrates: Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id (may Allah be pleased with him) had pain in one of his legs. His brother came to see him; he had placed one leg over the other while he was lying down. His brother struck his leg with his hand, and struck it in a way that hurt him. He said: "You have hurt me! Do you not know that my leg is already in pain?" He said: "Yes (I know it)." He asked: "Then why did you do it?" The other said: "Do you not know that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade this?"
This narration was recorded by Imam Ahmad, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih, except that the narrator Abu al-Nadr did not hear from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id (may Allah be pleased with him).

Ubayd bin Hunayn narrates: Once I was sitting when Sayyiduna Qatadah bin al-Nu'man (may Allah be pleased with him) came to me and said: "O Ibn Jubayr! Come with us to Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him)." We set off until we came into the presence of Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him), and we found him lying on his back with his right foot placed over his left foot. We greeted him with salam and sat down. Sayyiduna Qatadah bin al-Nu'man (may Allah be pleased with him) raised his hand to the leg of Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) and pinched it hard. Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Subhan Allah! O son of my mother, you have hurt me." Sayyiduna Qatadah bin al-Nu'man (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "That is exactly what I intended, because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'When Allah Almighty completed His creation (or: decreed concerning His creation), He lay on His back, placed one of His feet over the other, and then said: It is not fitting for anyone of My creation to do this.'" Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "By Allah! I will never do it again."
Al-Tabarani recorded it through three of his shaykhs: Ja'far bin Sulayman al-Nawfali, Ahmad bin Rishdin al-Misri and Ahmad bin Dawud al-Makki. Ahmad bin Rishdin is da'if (weak), and I do not know the other two. The rest of its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
