بَابٌ فِيمَنْ تَقُومُ عَلَيْهِمُ السَّاعَةُ

عَنْ عِلْبَاءَ السُّلَمِيِّ قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - يَقُولُ : " لَا تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ إِلَّا عَلَى حُثَالَةٍ مِنَ النَّاسِ " .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ وَأَبُو يَعْلَى وَالطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَرِجَالُهُ ثِقَاتٌ .

Sayyiduna Ilba' al-Sulami (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "The Hour will be established only upon the dregs of mankind."

وَعَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " لَا تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ حَتَّى يَأْخُذَ اللَّهُ شَرِيطَتَهُ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْأَرْضِ ، فَيَبْقَى فِيهَا عَجَاجَةٌ لَا يَعْرِفُونَ مَعْرُوفًا ، وَلَا يُنْكِرُونَ مُنْكَرًا " .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ مَرْفُوعًا وَمَوْقُوفًا ، وَرِجَالُهُمَا رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The Hour will not be established until Allah Almighty takes away the best people from among the inhabitants of the earth, and (only) the wicked remain on it, who will not recognise any good as good nor reject any evil as evil."
Ahmad recorded it both marfu' (attributed to the Prophet) and mawquf (stopping at the Companion), and the narrators of both are the narrators of the Sahih.

وَعَنْ عَلِيٍّ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ : " إِنَّ مِنْ شِرَارِ النَّاسَ مَنْ تُدْرِكُهُمُ السَّاعَةُ وَهُمْ أَحْيَاءٌ ، وَالَّذِينَ يَتَّخِذُونَ الْقُبُورَ مَسَاجِدَ ، وَالَّذِينَ يَشْهَدُونَ بِالشَّهَادَةِ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُسْأَلُوهَا " .
رَوَاهُ الْبَزَّارُ ، وَفِيهِ الْحَارِثُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْأَعْوَرُ وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ جِدًّا ، وَوَثَّقَهُ ابْنُ مَعِينٍ .

Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The worst of people will be those upon whom the Hour is established while they are alive, those who take graves as places of prostration, and those who give testimony before it is asked of them."
Al-Bazzar recorded it. Its chain contains al-Harith bin Abdullah al-A'war, who is extremely da'if (weak); Yahya bin Ma'in declared him thiqah (trustworthy).

وَعَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - يَقُولُ : " لَا يَزْدَادُ الْأَمْرُ إِلَّا شِدَّةً ، وَلَا يَزْدَادُ النَّاسُ إِلَّا شُحًّا وَلَا تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ إِلَّا عَلَى شِرَارِ النَّاسِ " .

Sayyiduna Mu'awiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Matters will only keep increasing in severity, people will only keep increasing in stinginess, and the Hour will be established only upon the worst of people."
