بَابُ لَا تَذْهَبُ الدُّنْيَا حَتَّى تَكُونَ لِلُكَعِ بْنِ لُكَعٍ .

عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَهْمِ قَالَ : أَقْبَلْتُ أَنَا وَيَزِيدُ بْنُ حَسَنٍ ، بَيْنَنَا ابْنُ رُمَّانَةَ مَوْلَى عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ مَرْوَانَ ، قَدْ نَصَبْنَا أَيْدِيَنَا فَهُوَ مُتَّكِئٌ عَلَيْهَا دَاخِلَ الْمَسْجِدِ مَسْجِدِ الرَّسُولِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - وَبِهِ ابْنُ نِيَارٍ رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - فَأَرْسَلَ إِلَى أَبِي بَكْرٍ [ ائْتِنِي ]، فَأَتَاهُ فَقَالَ : رَأَيْتُ ابْنَ رُمَّانَةَ بَيْنَكُمَا يَتَوَكَّأُ عَلَيْكَ وَعَلَى زَيْدِ بْنِ حَسَنٍ ، سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - يَقُولُ : " لَنْ تَذْهَبَ الدُّنْيَا حَتَّى تَكُونَ عِنْدَ لُكَعِ بْنِ لُكَعٍ " .
Abu Bakr bin Abi al-Jahm narrates: Yazid bin Hasan and I came along, with Rummanah, the slave of Abd al-Aziz bin Marwan, between us. We had raised our hands and he was leaning on them. He entered the mosque, that is, he entered the mosque of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). There, a Companion of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), Sayyiduna Ibn Niyar (may Allah be pleased with him), was present. He sent a message to Abu Bakr: Come to me. He came to him, and he said: I saw Ibn Rummanah walking between you, leaning on you, between you and Zayd bin Hasan; and I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "The world will not come to an end until it comes into the hands of a fool, son of a fool."
وَفِي رِوَايَةٍ لَا تَذْهَبُ الدُّنْيَا حَتَّى تَكُونَ لِلُكَعِ بْنِ لُكَعٍ " .
رَوَاهُ كُلَّهُ أَحْمَدُ وَالطَّبَرَانِيُّ بِاخْتِصَارٍ ، وَرِجَالُهُ ثِقَاتٌ .
رَوَاهُ كُلَّهُ أَحْمَدُ وَالطَّبَرَانِيُّ بِاخْتِصَارٍ ، وَرِجَالُهُ ثِقَاتٌ .
In one narration the words are: "The world will not come to an end until it comes to a fool, son of a fool." Ahmad recorded all of these reports and al-Tabarani recorded them in abridged form, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
وَعَنْ بَعْضِ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ : " يُوشِكُ أَنْ يَغْلِبَ عَلَى الدُّنْيَا لُكَعُ بْنُ لُكَعٍ ، وَأَفْضَلُ النَّاسِ مُؤْمِنُ بَيْنَ كَرِيمَيْنِ " .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ وَلَمْ يَرْفَعْهُ ، وَرِجَالُهُ ثِقَاتٌ .
قُلْتُ : وَيَأْتِي لِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ طُرُقٌ فِي أَمَارَاتِ السَّاعَةِ مِنْ حَدِيثِ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ وَأَنَسٍ وَأَبِي ذَرٍّ - رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمْ - .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ وَلَمْ يَرْفَعْهُ ، وَرِجَالُهُ ثِقَاتٌ .
قُلْتُ : وَيَأْتِي لِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ طُرُقٌ فِي أَمَارَاتِ السَّاعَةِ مِنْ حَدِيثِ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ وَأَنَسٍ وَأَبِي ذَرٍّ - رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمْ - .
Some of the Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) narrate: "Soon a fool, son of a fool, will dominate the world, and the most excellent of people is the believer who is the child of two righteous parents."
Ahmad recorded it; he did not record it as marfu' (attributed to the Prophet), and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy). (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: Various chains of this hadith will come later in the chapter on the signs of the Hour, being the hadith narrated from Sayyiduna Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him), Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) and Sayyiduna Abu Dharr al-Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with him).
