Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (Allah Almighty says): "Those who avoid the major sins and indecencies, except for approaching sins and stopping short (lamam)." Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: It means going near zina (fornication) and stopping short. Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Allah! If You forgive, then forgive abundantly; which servant of Yours is there who has not inclined towards sin?"
Al-Bazzar recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrated concerning this statement of Allah Almighty (Allah Almighty says): "Those who avoid the major sins and indecencies." Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: The greatest of the major sins is to associate partners with Allah Almighty. Allah Almighty has said: "Whoever associates (anyone) with Allah Almighty, Allah Almighty will forbid Paradise for him." (Another major sin) is to despair of the mercy of Allah Almighty. Allah Almighty has said: "None despairs of the mercy of Allah Almighty except the disbelieving people." (Another major sin) is to consider oneself safe from the plan of Allah Almighty, because Allah Almighty has said: "None considers himself safe from the plan of Allah Almighty except the people who are losers." (Among these major sins) one is disobedience to parents, because Allah Almighty has declared the disobedient person arrogant and wretched. Likewise, killing the soul that Allah Almighty has made sacred, except by right, because Allah Almighty has said: "Then his recompense is Hell." (A major sin) is to accuse a chaste woman of zina, because Allah Almighty has said: "They are cursed in this world and the Hereafter, and for them is a great punishment." (Likewise, a major sin) is consuming the wealth of an orphan, because Allah Almighty has said: "Indeed they only eat fire into their bellies, and soon they will reach the Blaze." (Among them, a major sin) is fleeing from the battlefield, because Allah Almighty has said: "And whoever turns his back on that day, except one who is manoeuvring for battle or wishes to join his own company, (the one who turns his back) has truly returned with the wrath of Allah, and his abode is Hell, and it is an evil abode." (And a major sin) is consuming usury (riba). Allah Almighty has said: "Those who consume usury will stand just as one stands whom Satan has driven out of his senses by his touch." (And a major sin) is practising magic, because Allah Almighty has said: "Those who acquired its knowledge, purchasing in exchange for it that which will have no share in the Hereafter." (And among these major sins) one is committing zina, because Allah Almighty has said: "And whoever does this will meet punishment; the punishment will be doubled for him on the Day of Resurrection, and he will abide therein in disgrace." (Among the major sins) one is swearing a false oath, because Allah Almighty has said: "Indeed those who purchase a small price in exchange for the covenant of Allah and their oaths." (Among these major sins) one is ghulul (misappropriation), because Allah Almighty has said: "And whoever misappropriates will come on the Day of Resurrection with what he misappropriated." (Among these major sins) one is not paying the obligatory zakah, because Allah Almighty has said: "Then their foreheads will be branded with it." (Among these major sins) one is giving false testimony, because Allah Almighty has said: "Whoever conceals it, his heart is sinful." (Among these major sins) one is drinking wine, because Allah Almighty has made it equal to the worship of idols. (Among these major sins) one is deliberately abandoning the prayer, or any obligation prescribed by Allah Almighty, because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever deliberately abandons the prayer, the protection of Allah Almighty and the protection of His Messenger is free of him." (And among the major sins) are also breaking a covenant and violating the rights of kinship.
Al-Tabarani recorded it, and its chain is hasan (good).
