قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى : الَّذِينَ يَجْتَنِبُونَ كَبَائِرَ الْإِثْمِ وَالْفَوَاحِشَ إِلَّا اللَّمَمَ .
The words of Allah the Exalted: "Those who avoid the major sins and immoralities, except minor faults"

عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ الَّذِينَ يَجْتَنِبُونَ كَبَائِرَ الْإِثْمِ وَالْفَوَاحِشَ إِلَّا اللَّمَمَ قَالَ : اللَّمَّةُ مِنَ الزِّنَا . وَقَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " إِنْ تَغْفِرِ اللَّهُمَّ تَغْفِرْ جَمًّا وَأَيُّ عَبْدٍ لَكَ لَا أَلَمَّا " رَوَاهُ الْبَزَّارُ ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (Allah Almighty says): "Those who avoid the major sins and indecencies, except for approaching sins and stopping short (lamam)." Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: It means going near zina (fornication) and stopping short. Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Allah! If You forgive, then forgive abundantly; which servant of Yours is there who has not inclined towards sin?"
