قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى : فَسَوْفَ يَلْقَوْنَ غَيًّا .
The words of Allah the Exalted: "They are going to meet ghayy"

عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ - يَعْنِي ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ - : فَسَوْفَ يَلْقَوْنَ غَيًّا قَالَ : وَادٍ فِي جَهَنَّمَ مِنْ قَيْحٍ ،
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: (Allah Almighty says:) "So they will soon meet Ghayy." Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: It is a valley in Hell, made of pus.
وَفِي رِوَايَةٍ : الْغَيُّ نَهْرٌ فِي جَهَنَّمَ ، يُقْذَفُ فِيهِ الَّذِينَ يَتَّبِعُونَ الشَّهَوَاتِ . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ بِأَسَانِيدَ ، وَرِجَالُ بَعْضِهَا ثِقَاتٌ ، إِلَّا أَنَّ أَبَا عُبَيْدَةَ لَمْ يَسْمَعْ مِنْ أَبِيهِ .
In one narration the words are: Ghayy is a river in Hell into which those who used to follow their lusts will be thrown.
Tabarani recorded it with several chains, the narrators of some of which are thiqat (trustworthy), except that Abu Ubaydah did not hear from his father.
