Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: It will not be that the man who hoarded treasure is branded in such a way that first one dirham is applied and then another, or first one dinar is applied and then another; rather, his skin will be expanded until every dinar and every dirham is placed upon it separately.
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.

Hadith Takhrij«اخرجه الطبراني فى المعجم الكبير (8754)»
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: When this verse was revealed: "And those who hoard gold and silver and do not spend it in the path of Allah, give them tidings of a painful punishment," the narrator says: This weighed very heavily upon the Muslims. They said: "None of us will be able to leave behind wealth that remains for his children after him." He (Sayyiduna Umar) said: "I will look into this on your behalf; you go." Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) set off, and Sayyiduna Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) followed him. He came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "O Prophet of Allah! This verse has weighed very heavily upon your Companions." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "We have made zakah obligatory only so that the rest of your wealth may remain (pure), and the rules of inheritance have been made obligatory in wealth so that it may remain for those after you." Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Allahu Akbar (Allah is the Greatest)." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: "Shall I not tell you what a man should treasure? A righteous woman: when he looks at her she pleases him, when he commands her she obeys him, and when he is absent from her she guards (his honour and property)."
Imam Abu Ya'la recorded it. Its chain contains a narrator, Uthman bin Umayr, who is da'if (weak).
