قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى : ﴿وَاللَّهُ يَعْصِمُكَ مِنَ النَّاسِ ﴾

عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ قَالَ : كَانَ عَبَّاسٌ عَمُّ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - فِيمَنْ يَحْرُسُهُ ، فَلَمَّا نَزَلَتْ وَاللَّهُ يَعْصِمُكَ مِنَ النَّاسِ تَرَكَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - الْحَرَسَ . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الصَّغِيرِ وَالْأَوْسَطِ ، وَفِيهِ عَطِيَّةُ الْعَوْفِيُّ وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ .
Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Sayyiduna Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him), the uncle of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), used to guard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). When this verse was revealed: "And Allah Almighty will protect you from the people," the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gave up that guarding.
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Saghir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat. Its chain contains a narrator, Atiyyah al-Awfi, and he is da'if (weak).

وَعَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ : كَانَ النَّبِيُّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - يُحْرَسُ ، وَكَانَ يُرْسِلُ مَعَهُ عَمُّهُ أَبُو طَالِبٍ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ رِجَالًا مِنْ بَنِي هَاشِمٍ [ يَحْرُسُونَهُ ] حَتَّى نَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ يَا أَيُّهَا الرَّسُولُ بَلِّغْ مَا أُنْزِلَ إِلَيْكَ مِنْ رَبِّكَ وَإِنْ لَمْ تَفْعَلْ فَمَا بَلَّغْتَ رِسَالَتَهُ وَاللَّهُ يَعْصِمُكَ مِنَ النَّاسِ . فَأَرَادَ عَمُّهُ أَنْ يُرْسِلَ مَعَهُ مَنْ يَحْرُسُهُ فَقَالَ : " يَا عَمِّ إِنَّ اللَّهَ قَدْ عَصَمَنِي مِنَ الْجِنِّ وَالْإِنْسِ " . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَفِيهِ النَّضْرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to be guarded. His uncle, Abu Talib, would send some men from Banu Hashim with him every day to guard him, until this verse was revealed: "O Messenger! Convey what has been sent down to you from your Lord, and if you do not do so, you will not have conveyed His message; and Allah Almighty will protect you from the people." After that his uncle wanted to send guards with him, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O uncle, Allah Almighty has protected me from the jinn and mankind."
