Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) says: When the servant is killed in the path of Allah, then when the first drop of his blood falls upon the earth, Allah Almighty erases all his sins. Then He sends to him a sheet from Paradise, in which his soul is taken, and a body from Paradise, until his spirit is placed into it. Then he ascends with the angels as though he had been with those angels ever since Allah Almighty created him, until he reaches the heaven. Every door he passes by is opened for him, and every angel he passes by prays for mercy and forgiveness for him, until he is brought to the Most Merciful. Then he falls in prostration before the angels, and the angels prostrate after him. Then he is forgiven and purified. Then the command is given to take him to the martyrs, and he finds those martyrs in green gardens, in domes of silk. With them are a bull and a fish, which provide those people every day with something they were not given the previous day. That fish lives in the rivers of Paradise and eats from every flavour in the rivers of Paradise. When evening comes, the bull strikes it with its horn and slaughters it. Those people eat the fish's flesh and find in its flesh the taste of everything in the rivers of Paradise. Then the bull spends the night grazing in Paradise, eating the fruits of Paradise. When morning comes, the fish comes to it and slaughters it with its tail. Those people eat the bull's flesh and find in its flesh the taste of every fruit of Paradise. They keep looking at their dwellings and pray to Allah Almighty that the Hour be established. After this the narrator mentioned the complete hadith, which has already preceded in the chapter on Funerals.
Al-Tabarani recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih, except Abd al-Rahman bin al-Baylamani, who is thiqah (trustworthy).

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The martyrs will be on the bank of a river at the gate of Paradise; they will be in a green dome. Their provision will come out to them from Paradise morning and evening."
Ahmad and al-Tabarani recorded it. Ahmad's narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).

Salim al-Aftas narrates: When Sayyiduna Hamzah bin Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with him), Sayyiduna Mus'ab bin Umayr (may Allah be pleased with him) and Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Jahsh (may Allah be pleased with him) were martyred, and they saw the good and the provision (that is, the reward), their desire for martyrdom increased, and they wished that their companions would also come to know of the good and provision they had been granted. So Allah Almighty said: "I will convey this to them on your behalf." Then Allah Almighty revealed this verse: "Do not ever think of those who are killed in the path of Allah (as dead)."
Al-Tabarani recorded it, and it is munqati' (broken) in its chain.

Sayyiduna Ubadah bin al-Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There is no soul that dies having good from Allah Almighty that would like to come back to you, even if it were given the world and all its blessings, except the one killed in the path of Allah, for he would like to come back (to the world) and be killed once again, because of the reward he sees that Allah Almighty has granted him (that is why he wishes for it)." (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say:
Al-Nasa'i (may Allah have mercy on him) recorded it, but he did not record these words: "because of the reward he sees from Allah Almighty for himself (he wishes for it)."
Al-Tabarani recorded it. Its chain contains a narrator, Muhammad bin Ibrahim bin al-Ala' al-Shami, who is da'if (weak). Some hadiths on this subject have already preceded in the Book of Funerals and in other chapters.
