وَعَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ : أَرْوَاحُ الشُّهَدَاءِ فِي أَجْوَافِ طَيْرٍ خُضْرٍ تَسْرَحُ فِي الْجَنَّةِ حَيْثُ شَاءَتْ ثُمَّ تَأْوِي إِلَى قَنَادِيلَ مُعَلَّقَةٍ بِالْعَرْشِ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ وَفِيهِ لَيْثُ بْنُ أَبِي سُلَيْمٍ وَهُوَ مُدَلِّسٌ .

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) says: "The souls of the martyrs will be in the bellies of green birds. They will go wherever they wish in Paradise, then they will return to lamps hanging from the Throne."
Al-Tabarani recorded it. Its chain contains a narrator, Layth bin Abi Sulaym, who is mudallis (one who conceals defects in the chain).
