The virtue of setting out in the morning and evening in the cause of Allah

Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) reports about the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): He ordered his Companions to go out on a military expedition. A man said to his wife: I will stay behind; after offering the Zuhr prayer behind the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), I will greet him and take my leave, and he will make a supplication for me that will intercede (for me) on the Day of Resurrection. When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had finished the prayer and the man came to greet him, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked him: "Do you know by how much your companions have gone ahead of you?" He replied: Yes. They went ahead of me by setting out this morning. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "By the One in whose Hand is my soul, in terms of excellence they have gone ahead of you by as much as the distance between the two easts and the two wests, and more than that."
Ahmad recorded it; its chain contains Zabban bin Fa'id, whom Abu Hatim declared thiqah (trustworthy) and a group declared da'if (weak). The rest of its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).

Sayyiduna Mu'awiyah bin Hudayj (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "A morning or an evening spent in the path of Allah is better than the world and (all) that is in it."
Ahmad and al-Tabarani recorded it; its chain contains Ibn Lahi'ah, who is hasan al-hadith (good in hadith). The rest of its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).

It is reported about Sayyiduna Sufyan bin Wahb al-Khawlani (may Allah be pleased with him) that on the day of the Farewell Hajj he was under the shade of the mount of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) (the narrator is unsure; perhaps the words are:) or a man told him this. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was on it at the time. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Have I conveyed (the message)?" We thought that perhaps he was addressing us, and they said: Yes! The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) repeated this three times. Then, among the things he said, was this: "An evening spent in the path of Allah is better than the world and all that is on it, and a morning spent in the path of Allah is better than the world and all that is on it. The honour, property and life of a believer are as sacred to another believer as the sanctity of this day."
Ahmad and al-Tabarani recorded it; the narrators of Ahmad are thiqat (trustworthy).

Sayyiduna al-Zubayr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A morning or an evening spent in the path of Allah is better than the world and (everything) that is in it."
Abu Ya'la and al-Bazzar recorded it; its chain contains Amr bin Safwan al-Muzani, whom I do not know. The rest of its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).

Sayyiduna Imran bin Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A morning or an evening spent in the path of Allah (or: setting out in the morning or setting out in the evening) is better than the world and everything that is in it."
Al-Bazzar recorded it; its chain contains Yusuf bin Khalid al-Samti, who is da'if (weak).
