Sayyiduna Imam Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever has a child born to him, and he gives the adhan in his right ear and the iqamah in his left ear, Umm al-Sibyan (an affliction of children) will not harm that child."
Abu Ya'la recorded it; its chain contains Marwan bin Salim al-Ghifari, who is matruk (abandoned).
Sayyiduna Abu Rafi' (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gave the adhan in the ears of Sayyiduna Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) and Sayyiduna Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him) when they were born, and he also gave an instruction about it. (Allamah Haythami says:) I say:
Abu Dawud recorded this report, but he did not mention the adhan in the ear of Sayyiduna Imam Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) or the instruction about it.
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Kabir; its chain contains Hammad bin Shu'ayb, who is extremely da'if (weak).
