Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: In the blessed time of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), two men disagreed about the mosque whose foundation was laid on piety (taqwa). One of them said that it meant the Prophet's Mosque, and the other said that it meant the Mosque of Quba. They both came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and asked him about it, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "It means this mosque of mine."

In one narration the wording is: When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked about the mosque whose foundation was laid on piety (taqwa), the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "It means my mosque." Ahmad recorded all of these narrations, and al-Tabarani recorded them in abridged form; the narrators of both are the narrators of the Sahih.

Sayyiduna Ubayy bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "The mosque whose foundation was laid on piety (taqwa) means this mosque of mine."
Ahmad recorded it; its chain contains a narrator, Abdullah bin Amir al-Aslami, who is da'if (weak).

Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I, Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) and Sayyiduna Samurah bin Jundub (may Allah be pleased with him) set out towards the Mosque of Taqwa. We came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he said to us: "Go towards the Mosque of Taqwa!" So we set out towards it, and he came towards us with one of his hands on the shoulder of Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) and the other on the shoulder of Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him). We rose up before him, and he asked: "Who are these, O Abu Bakr?" He said: "Abdullah bin Umar, Abu Hurayrah and Samurah."
Ahmad recorded it as a hadith narrated by Abu Amin, and I have not found anyone who has given his biography.
(Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: The remaining hadiths related to this chapter will come in the Tafsir, under Surah Bara'ah, if Allah wills.
