Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Zakah is not due on fewer than five camels, on less than five uqiyah (of silver), or on less than five wasq (of grain)."
Ahmad, al-Bazzar, and al-Tabarani in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat recorded it. Its chain contains a narrator, Layth bin Abi Sulaym, who is thiqah (trustworthy) but a mudallis (one who conceals defects in the chain).

Sayyidah Aishah Siddiqah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: The Sunnah established by the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) regarding the dowry (mahr) of women is that it is twelve uqiyah; one uqiyah is forty dirhams, so this comes to four hundred and eighty dirhams. The Sunnah established by the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) regarding the ritual bath (ghusl) for janabah is that it is done with one sa' of water, and ablution (wudu) with two ratl of water; one sa' is eight ratl. Regarding whatever the earth produces, such as wheat, barley, raisins and dates, the Sunnah established is that when it reaches five wasq (zakah becomes due); one wasq is sixty sa', so this comes to three hundred sa', according to the sa' by which the Sunnah was established. And the Sunnah established by the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is: zakah is not obligatory on less than five wasq (of grain); one wasq is sixty sa', according to this sa', so by this reckoning it comes to three hundred sa'.
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains a narrator, Salih bin Musa al-Talhi, who is da'if (weak).
