Sayyiduna Abd al-Rahman bin Awf (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Umayyah bin Khalaf said to me: "O Abd al-Ilah (servant of the Deity), who is the man whose distinctive mark on the day of Badr was an ostrich feather on his chest?" I said: "That was the uncle of the Messenger of Allah; that was Hamzah bin Abd al-Muttalib." He said: "That is the one who did these things to us (that is, harmed us)."
Al-Bazzar recorded it through two routes. In one of them is his teacher Ali bin al-Fadl al-Karabisi, and I do not know him; the remaining narrators of this narration are the narrators of the Sahih. The other route is da'if (weak).
