Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 997

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Beware of the three places that bring about curses!" It was asked: "O Messenger of Allah! What is meant by the places that bring about curses?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "That one of you sits (to relieve himself) in the shade where people sit, or does so on a path, or at a place where water gushes out."
Ahmad recorded it; its chain contains a narrator, Ibn Lahi'ah, and a narrator whose name is not mentioned.
