Sayyiduna Qays bin al-Nu'man (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) were travelling in concealment, the two of them halted at the home of Abu Ma'bad. He said: "By Allah, we have no goat (to give milk), and our goats are pregnant; we have no milk." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "What is the matter with that goat?" He brought that goat, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) supplicated for blessing upon it. Then he milked into a vessel and gave him to drink, then those men drank. Abu Ma'bad said: "Are you the man about whom Quraysh say that you have changed your religion?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "That is what they say." Abu Ma'bad said: "I bear witness that what you have brought is the truth." Then he asked: "Shall I follow you?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No, not until you hear that we have prevailed." After that (once a certain period had passed), Abu Ma'bad followed the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
Al-Bazzar recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
