Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "This Ummah will continue to remain on the Shari'ah as long as three things do not appear among them: as long as knowledge is not taken away from them, the offspring of sin (hinth) do not become many among them, and the 'Saqqarun' do not appear among them." It was asked: "O Messenger of Allah! What is meant by 'Saqqarun'?" (Here the narrator is in doubt about one word.) He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "They are people who will be in the end times, and their way of greeting one another will be to curse one another."
Ahmad recorded it (in his Musnad) and al-Tabarani in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir; its chain contains two narrators, Ibn Lahi'ah and Zabban; both of them are da'if (weak), though they have also been declared thiqah (trustworthy).
