Abu Umayyah al-Ta'ifi, who is from the descendants of Sayyiduna Sa'id bin al-As (may Allah be pleased with him), narrates: My grandfather narrated from his grandfather, Sayyiduna Sa'id bin al-As (may Allah be pleased with him), that when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was sent (with prophethood), his grandfather Abu Uhayhah was ill. During this illness he said: "If you raise me from my bed, the God of Ibn Abi Kabshah will not be worshipped in Makkah." His son, who was at his bedside, said: "O Allah! Do not raise him." (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I found it like this in the original.
Al-Tabarani recorded it, and its chain is munqati' (broken).
