Sayyiduna Fadalah bin Ubayd (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Some people want to bring me down from my religion. That will not happen until I go to join Sayyiduna Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and his Companions. Whoever sells anything obtained in the land of the Romans, whether grain or fodder, in exchange for gold or silver, then it becomes something on which the khumus (one-fifth) is obligatory; and the khumus is for Allah Almighty and is the share of the Muslims.
Al-Tabarani recorded it, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
