بَابُ عَرْضِ الْإِسْلَامِ وَالدُّعَاءِ إِلَيْهِ قَبْلَ الْقِتَالِ

Majma al-Zawaid 9583 — Offering Islam and inviting
وَعَنْ أَنَسٍ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ لِرَجُلٍ : " أَسْلِمْ تَسْلَمْ " . قَالَ : إِنِّي أَجِدُنِي كَارِهًا . قَالَ : " [ أَسْلَمُ ] وَإِنْ كُنْتَ كَارِهًا " .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ وَأَبُو يَعْلَى ، وَرِجَالُهُمَا رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .

Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to a man: "Accept Islam and you will be safe." He said: "I feel that I would be doing so unwillingly." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Accept Islam, even if you do so unwillingly!"
