بَابٌ فِيمَا تَحْصُلُ بِهِ الشَّهَادَةُ
The means by which martyrdom is attained
Majma al-Zawaid 9556 — The means by which martyrdom is attained
وَعَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَفَعَهُ قَالَ : " الْبَطْنُ وَالْغَرَقُ شَهَادَةٌ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .

Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reports this as a marfu' hadith (the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said): "Dying of a disease of the belly and dying by drowning are martyrdom."
