بَابٌ فِيمَنْ جَهَّزَ غَازِيًا أَوْ خَلَفَهُ فِي أَهْلِهِ
One who equips a fighter or looks after his family in his absence

وَعَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " مَنْ جَهَّزَ غَازِيًا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ فَقَدْ غَزَا وَمَنْ خَلَفَهُ فِي أَهْلِهِ بِخَيْرٍ فَقَدْ غَزَا " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ وَفِيهِ رَوَّادُ بْنُ الْجَرَّاحِ وَثَّقَهُ أَحْمَدُ فِي غَيْرِ حَدِيثِ سُفْيَانَ وَكَذَلِكَ ابْنُ مَعِينٍ وَابْنُ حِبَّانَ وَقَالَ : يُخْطِئُ وَيُخَالِفُ ، وَضَعَّفَهُ جَمَاعَةٌ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ وَفِيهِ رَوَّادُ بْنُ الْجَرَّاحِ وَثَّقَهُ أَحْمَدُ فِي غَيْرِ حَدِيثِ سُفْيَانَ وَكَذَلِكَ ابْنُ مَعِينٍ وَابْنُ حِبَّانَ وَقَالَ : يُخْطِئُ وَيُخَالِفُ ، وَضَعَّفَهُ جَمَاعَةٌ .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever equips someone taking part in battle in the path of Allah, it is as though he himself took part in battle; and whoever looks after the family of that ghazi in his absence, it is as though he too took part in battle."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains Rawwad bin al-Jarrah, whom Ahmad declared thiqah (trustworthy) except in what he narrates from Sufyan; Yahya bin Ma'in and Ibn Hibban did likewise. Ibn Hibban said: He makes mistakes and narrates contrary to (other narrators). A group declared him da'if (weak).
