وَعَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - يَقُولُ : " إِذَا خَرَجَ الْغَازِي فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ جُعِلَتْ ذُنُوبُهُ جِسْرًا عَلَى بَابِ بَيْتِهِ فَإِذَا خَلَّفَهُ خَلَّفَ ذُنُوبَهُ كُلَّهَا فَلَمْ يَبْقَ عَلَيْهِ مِنْهَا مِثْلُ جَنَاحِ بَعُوضَةٍ ، وَتَكَفَّلَ اللَّهُ لَهُ بِأَرْبَعٍ ؛ بِأَنْ يَخْلُفَهُ فِيمَا يُخْلِفُ مِنْ أَهْلٍ وَمَالٍ، وَأَيُّ مِيتَةٍ مَاتَ بِهَا أَدْخَلَهُ الْجَنَّةَ ، وَأَيُّ رِدَّةٍ رَدَّهُ رَدَّهُ سَالِمًا بِمَا نَالَهُ مِنْ أَجْرٍ أَوْ غَنِيمَةٍ، وَلَا تَغْرُبُ شَمْسٌ إِلَّا غَرَبَتْ بِذُنُوبِهِ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَفِيهِ بَكْرُ بْنُ خُنَيْسٍ، وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ .

Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "When a fighter goes out in the way of Allah, his sins are placed at the door of his house. When he leaves the door behind and goes on, he leaves all his sins behind, and not even as much as a mosquito's wing of those sins remains upon him. Allah Almighty becomes a guarantor for him of four things: that He will watch over whatever family and wealth he leaves behind; that in whatever state he dies, Allah Almighty will admit him into Paradise; that in whatever state he returns, Allah Almighty will bring him back safely, and he will obtain reward and he will obtain spoils; and that whenever the sun sets, it sets taking his sins with it."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains a narrator, Bakr bin Khunays, who is da'if (weak).
