عَنْ مَرْزُوقٍ الصَّقِيلِ أَنَّهُ صَقَلَ سَيْفَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - ذَا الْفَقَارِ ، وَكَانَتْ لَهُ قَبِيعَةٌ مِنْ فِضَّةٍ ، وَحَلَقٌ فِي قَيْدِهِ ، وَبَكْرَةٌ فِي وَسَطِهِ مِنْ فِضَّةٍ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ وَفِيهِ أَبُو الْحَكَمِ الصَّقِيلُ وَلَمْ أَعْرِفْهُ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ ثِقَاتٌ .

Marzuq al-Saqil narrates that he polished the sword of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), Dhu al-Faqar. The knob on its hilt was of silver, and the ring on its suspension and the pulley-ring (bakrah) in its middle were made of silver.
Al-Tabarani recorded it; its chain contains Abu al-Hakam al-Saqil, whom I do not know. The remaining narrators of this report are thiqat (trustworthy).
