وَعَنْ أَبِي بَلْجٍ قَالَ : رَأَيْتُ لُبَيَّ بْنَ لَبَا الْأَسَدِيَّ وَكَانَ رَجُلًا مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - وَقَدْ أَدْرَكَ النَّبِيَّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - سَبَقَ فَرَسٌ لَهُ جَلَّلَهُ بُرْدًا عَدَنِيًّا ، وَرَأَيْتُ عَلَيْهِ ثَوْبَ خَزٍّ وَمِطْرَفًا .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ وَرِجَالُهُ ثِقَاتٌ .

Abu Balj says: I saw Sayyiduna Lubay bin Laba al-Asadi (may Allah be pleased with him), who was one of the Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and had lived in the time of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). His horse won a race, and he had put a woollen sheet over it. And I saw that he was wearing woollen and marked garments.
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
