Sayyiduna Ju'ayl al-Ashja'i (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I took part in a military expedition with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). I was riding my weak and emaciated mare, and I was the last of the people. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) caught up with me and said: "Move on, O owner of the horse." I said: O Messenger of Allah, she is emaciated and weak. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) raised a stick he had with him, struck the mare with it, and said: "O Allah, place blessing for him in her." The narrator says: I remember well that I could not hold back her head, and I was getting ahead of the people. The narrator says: I sold the offspring born to that mare for twelve thousand.
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
