Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 9218

Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that he heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "I do not fear for my Ummah that hunger will kill them, or that an enemy will wipe them out; rather, what I fear for my Ummah is misleading rulers: if the people obey those rulers, they (the rulers) will put them to trial, and if they (the people) disobey them (the rulers), those rulers will have them killed."
Al-Tabarani recorded it; its chain contains a narrator whom I do not know.
