وَعَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " يَوْمٌ مِنْ إِمَامٍ عَادِلٍ أَفْضَلُ مِنْ عِبَادَةِ سِتِّينَ سَنَةً ، وَحَدٌّ يُقَامُ فِي الْأَرْضِ بِحَقِّهِ أَزْكَى فِيهَا مِنْ مَطَرِ أَرْبَعِينَ عَامًا " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ وَالْأَوْسَطِ ، وَفِيهِ سَعْدُ أَبُو غِيلَانَ الشَّيْبَانِيُّ وَلَمْ أَعْرِفْهُ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ ثِقَاتٌ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ وَالْأَوْسَطِ ، وَفِيهِ سَعْدُ أَبُو غِيلَانَ الشَّيْبَانِيُّ وَلَمْ أَعْرِفْهُ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ ثِقَاتٌ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "One day of a just ruler is more virtuous than sixty years of worship, and a prescribed punishment (hadd) carried out in the land on the basis of its right (that is, the execution of a punishment) is purer for the land than forty years of rain."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat. Its chain contains Sa'd Abu Ghaylan al-Shaybani, whom I do not know; the rest of its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
