وَعَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ - رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا - : أَنَّهَا سَمِعَتِ النَّبِيَّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - وَسَأَلَهُ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ : إِنِّي أُحَدِّثُ نَفْسِي بِالشَّيْءِ لَوْ تَكَلَّمْتُ بِهِ لَأَحْبَطْتُ آخِرَتِي ، فَقَالَ : " لَا يَلْقَى ذَلِكَ الْكَلَامَ إِلَّا مُؤْمِنٌ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ وَالصَّغِيرِ ، وَفِي إِسْنَادِهِ سَيْفُ بْنُ عُمَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ الْأَزْدِيُّ : يَتَكَلَّمُونَ فِيهِ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ وَالصَّغِيرِ ، وَفِي إِسْنَادِهِ سَيْفُ بْنُ عُمَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ الْأَزْدِيُّ : يَتَكَلَّمُونَ فِيهِ .
Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that she heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) when a man asked him, saying: "Such a thought comes into my mind that if I were to speak about it, I would ruin my Hereafter." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Only a believer faces this kind of thing (that is, whispering)."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat and al-Mu'jam al-Saghir; its chain contains a narrator, Sayf bin Umayrah. Al-Azdi says: The scholars have criticised him.
