وَعَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ : قَالَ رَجُلٌ لِلنَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : إِنِّي أَجِدُ فِي نَفْسِي الشَّيْءَ لَأَنْ أَكُونَ حُمَمَةً أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِنْ أَنْ أَتَكَلَّمَ بِهِ ، فَقَالَ : " ذَاكَ صَرِيحُ الْإِيمَانِ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الصَّغِيرِ ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ خَلَا شَيْخِ الطَّبَرَانِيِّ مُنْتَصِرٍ .

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas narrates: A man said to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Sometimes I get such a thought that becoming a piece of charcoal would be dearer to me than speaking about this thought." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "That is clear faith."
