Sayyidah Aishah Siddiqah (may Allah be pleased with her) says: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade wearing silk and gold, drinking from vessels of gold and silver, the red mitharah, and wearing qassi. Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "O Messenger of Allah! A little gold, with which musk may be tied?" (The narrator is unsure; perhaps the words are:) "With which we may tie it?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No! Make it of silver, then rub a little saffron on it." (Allamah Haythami says:) I say: Ibn Majah recorded part of it.
Ahmad and Abu Ya'la recorded it; its chain contains the narrator Khusayf, in whom there is weakness, though a group declared him thiqah (trustworthy).
